SENATOR MILLER announced SB 325 (TAKING OF ANTLERLESS MOOSE) to be e up for consideration. LARRY HOLMES, Chairman, Anchorage, Fish and Game Advisory Committee, said the taking of antlerless moose is a very volatile issue in a number of communities and he didn't think it was right to take it out of the Advisory Committee's hands. PATRICK WRIGHT, Anchorage resident, opposed SB 325, because the current statute offers an excellent system of checks and balances when considering antlerless moose seasons. Department of Fish and Game biologists must show there are biologically sound reasons for remanding an antlerless moose hunt. This must also be approved by the local Fish and Game Advisory Committees.
